Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I mainly post about my sewing projects, as I’m building a colourful and comfortable everyday wardrobe suitable for a working mum of primary school children. I really love African wax fabric, so that features heavily. I also occassionally post about family life in Edinburgh and travel. Hope you have a nice stay!

All my 2020 makes

All my 2020 makes

At the end of the year i like to go through my blog posts and instagram and round up all the things I made. This year it was 30 projects (some included several items, like the pyjama sets or the hats) plus some masks. It’s a similar number to last year, and a level of output I’m happy with. I wouldn’t want to be producing much more really, my wardrobe is full enough - though I do enjoy the procesrsof making and I’m really happy that I’ve properly worn all my makes this year, so I wouldn’t want to make any less either.

The work horses of the year have definitely been the Bob trousers, particularly the two plain ones, I wear them all the time. 2020 was the year I overcome my fear and learnt to make trousers and I’m really pleased with myself. In 2021 I want to make some non elasticated waist ones though! My favourite make of the year was probably the African Wax Haori, I took a long time to get the pattern placement right and I’m super happy with it. Of course, 2020 was the year where I didn’t really go anywhere, so it didn’t get worn as much as it might have done otherwise.

Anyway, here are all the links:

Looking forward to all the makes of 2021!
