Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I mainly post about my sewing projects, as I’m building a colourful and comfortable everyday wardrobe suitable for a working mum of primary school children. I really love African wax fabric, so that features heavily. I also occassionally post about family life in Edinburgh and travel. Hope you have a nice stay!

First make of 2021! I made a couple of pairs of the Peppermint Loungewear set as pyjamas recently, but they are short sleeved, and I live in Scotland, and it's January, so I've mostly worn them with either a long sleeve tee under the top, or a sweatshirt over it. So I decided to make another pair, with long sleeves this time.

Rather than use a dedicated pyjama/loungewear pattern, I decided to mix and match two of my tried and tested patterns, the LB pullover and my beloved Bob trousers. This is just the top so far, details below.

Pattern: Paper Theory LB Pullover without the rollneck - I decided that that wasn’t appropriate for sleepwear.

Size: 16

Fabric: Brushed cotton from Minerva, giften in exchange for a post on their website. One thing to note about the fabric is that it is described as flannel, but I wouldn't describe it as that. It's more of a twill, with that distinctive texture. It's quite lightweight sand very soft. It wasn't quite what I was expecting but it means this top is suitable for wearing during the day as well as pyjamas.

Modifications: The non rollneck other neck finish that comes with the pattern is a neckband for knit fabrics, which I didn't think would work, so I finished the neck with bias binding. Everything else is as per instructions.
