My 2022 Makes
So, since I’ve now posted everything I made this year, it is time for the 2022 roundup. I made 36 things, which is more than last year (29), I’m surprised by that to be honest, as I’ve actually been trying to take things more slowly. At one point I was obviously making too fast to keep up with the blogging! I’m pretty pleased with the balance between things, I made 5 trousers, 7 short sleeved tops, 6 long sleeved tops, 7 dresses, 8 things for the boys, and 3 accessories.
In terms of the things I made for myself, the dresses are the most fun, they are the main place where I’ve used prints, and obviously a dress is an instant outfit. My post popular sewing posts on Instagram were the Davenport dress and the red Vogue one. But the trousers are the real workhorses. The blue Bobs and the chambray Xaneles are my most worn items, I reckon.
I think I may be ready to move on from the elsaticated waists in 2023 though. Maybe!
I’ve made no skirts at all, which is interesting, but maybe not surprising. I don’t wear them as trouser substitutes because I travel by cycling, don’t like tights much any more and when its warm enough for no tights, my thighs stick together. And for a special occassions a dress is just better/easier than a skirt and top combo.
So that’s it for last year, here’s to the next!
