Gingham Unfolding jacket - Ashton top set
I made another Unfolding jacket! this is the long length, it's an unusual silhouette for me with the skinny jeans like this, and I think the shorter length is probably better for wearing everyday for me, but this is nice for a change, and good bum coverage too.
I didn't line this and also just used a single layer for the collar band - also no interfacing - I think I like it unlined because it's lighter and more like a shirt than a jacket. I did all french seams inside and it's so lovely and tidy that this morning I put it on inside out and it took me ages to notice I'd done that.
The fabric is a tiny gingham cotton and its really nice quality, a good weight, bnot super drapey but enough for the jacket and presses really sharply.
This is the size L, I had 2.5 metres as the pattern says, but I had quite a bit left, although an irregular shape.
I've managed to squeeze a cropped ashton out of it, minus the facings. It is shorter than I am really comfortable wearing, so it needs a vest underneath. I also sized up to a 16, I have a couple of size 14 ones that are a wee bit tight round the boobs. The 16 is slightly bigger than it needs to be round the shoulders though, so I think what I actually need is a 14 with an fba. Maybe another time!
