Dupion silk Athina top
Just a quickie today to catch up on all my 2019 makes during 2019! I made this top ages and ages ago (in June maybe? I definitely had it in the summer), but I never managed to get a decent photo of it until now, not for lack of trying, I’ve worn this loads!
Nothing much to report about the making of this, I did exactly the same as for the silk oil one, same size and length, faux felled seams. The fabric is dupion silk from Edinburgh Fabrics, I like it a lot. They have lots of different colours, some of which are lovely and multitonal, but I went for this as there was very little left and you never know if they will restock. I’m not much of a pink person, but I really like this shade. You need to handwash this unfortunately but the advantage is that it dries really quickly so it’s cool. I’m told that dupion silk will eventually lose a bit of its shine as it’s washed, but I’m not sure that’s happened yet. Not that I would mind if it did!
