Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I mainly post about my sewing projects, as I’m building a colourful and comfortable everyday wardrobe suitable for a working mum of primary school children. I really love African wax fabric, so that features heavily. I also occassionally post about family life in Edinburgh and travel. Hope you have a nice stay!

Tencel Zadie jumpsuit

Tencel Zadie jumpsuit

My second Zadie! This is made from Merchant and Mills tencel, which is just lovely. It has the feel of sandwashed silk and was a dream to work with.

No sleeves this time obviously, and I took an inch and a half out fo the rise, which works well. The other thing I changed, on advice from a sewing friend who has made three already, was not attaching the waist ties on the bias in the bit underneath the sticky outy bit (technical term), but on the actual sticky outy bit. I also didn’t attempt to catch the tie in the binding, but added the binding first and then sewed the tie on after it.

The other thing I might change if (when) I made another is narrow the legs slightly – they are VERY wide. It’s kind of cool for this one, in a floating about in the summertime way though.

That’s all for this one, I still think the pattern is awesome like everyone says!
