Blue wiksten shift top in rescued fabric

I had a virtual sewing night the other night and needed something straightforward I could make without concentrating, so went for anorther wiksten shift. Then I discovered that there’s a version of it without the gathering in the back which needs very little fabric. This made it possible to use up small pieces in my fabric box. What I went for first was some slinky stuff (viscose, probably?) I got from my friend Amy who runs the Craft and Thrift Fabric shop. It’s lovely fabric, but full of holes, so she couldn’t sell it.

I didn’t manage to quite avoid all the holes, I mended them in a semi-visible way using the machine. I’m not sure if that was successful really, but in any case you can’t really see it in the pattern. I also added a pocket at the top which you also can’t see.

Really happy with this top for summer though, and I’ve already made another!
