Canty Bay
I’ve neglected the non sewing posts for a while, lock down has messed with my sense of time. I even considered just making this a sewing blog, but then I like writing up our day trips, so here we are. This was from our week off at the end of the summer holidays. It’s Canty Bay, a beach outside North Berwick. We found out about it because there’s a cafe, Drift, near the top. You have to park at the cafe and then walk down a steep path*, there’s no car access to the beach, which means its super quiet. We got there about ten and stayed on the beach for two hours and there was no one else at all for the first hour, then some people walking or running along the coast passed through. It was such a beautiful day, look how clear and blue the water was!
To note parking is now for cafe customers only, and is restricted to two hours (We did have lunch there after coming off the beach!).
* there’s a good German word for this, Trampelpfad, a path made by trampling
