Winterberry scarf
I've been away from making for a wee while, but back with this, which I finished over the Christmas holidays. Very much finished it, not made it. This was actually my work call knitting for ages, but I got to the bit where I had to think, so I stashed it and forgot about it for months.
It's a scarf based on the stitch repeat of the winterberry shawl, which I've made a couple of times already. I did the first increase as written, then just went straight for ages, and then did a decrease as a mirror image of the increase.
It's a really straightforward pattern, with some Yarn Over eyelets and otherwise just knit and purl stripes. Perfect for meeting knitting!
The thing that was making me stop is that I wanted to use up all of my yarn, but obviously not run out before I reached the end of the decreases. I ended up going too early, and had a bit left over. But better than the other way! I spent ages trying to get the decrease to go in right direction, so the scarf is a parallelogram. What I didn't really consider is is that when you wear it round your neck, both the points go in the same direction. But oh well!
The yarn is the silk mix from Ginger Twist, splendor, in a 4 ply. The colour is called Melon Balls of Fire. It's super cozy. I used two skeins, well, almost!
