The pattern formerly known as the Kabuki Tee
Today’s post is based on my recent Minerva Makers blog post. The Miverva post will go live at some point in the New Year/spring, but I really wanted to blog this now so it can be included in my 2019 makes. As you can see from the title, it’s the Paper Theory Kabuki Tee.
The slight issue is that Tara announced that she was changing the name of this pattern immediately after I had finished sewing it! I contacted her and she was kind enough to give me the new name so it can be included in the Minerva post, but as far as I know she hasn’t actually announced the new name yet, and obviously I don’t want to be the first to make it public. Hence ‘the pattern formerly known as the Kabuki tee’!
Anyway, I’ll keep this short as I already wrote a proper post for Minerva, so just the facts:
Pattern: Kabuki Tee by Paper Theory
Fabric: Cotton shirting (gifted by Minerva in exchange for a blog post)
Size: I made the size 14, I could probably go down one
Alterations: I lengthened it by 20cms. I initially wanted to make a dress, after seeing this lovely version, but decided to go tunic in the end as I do wear trousers most of the time for cycling ease
Difficulty: easy peasy, and the instructions are great. The only difficult thing is the right angle, which I didn’t get as crisp as I had hoped, but I think that’s just practice
Worn: lots of times!
Make again: Yes! the top length, in a drapey linen, in a smaller size, I think
