The Kelpies (and Project 52: 12/52)
We went to the Kelpies for the first time on Mother’s Day a couple of weekends ago. I’d been once before for a night time run but I hadn’t looked around or anything.
It’s fun place to go with kids, the playgrounds are amazing and there’s lots of flat paths for cycling and scootering. We took Ellis’ pedal bike which he hadn’t been on since November and he just got it, it was brilliant! We now need to work on hill cycling so he can take it to nursery.
People have been asking me if it’s worth going and I’d say definitely with kids, probably not without them. The only adult thing really is the Kelpies themselves. They are impressive though, and it’s definitely better to see them from inside the park than the motorway. They are actually bigger than I expected! There was a guided tour that got taken inside them as well. We’ll definitely be back when it’s summer (assuming there is a summer, which is by no means guaranteed) because they have a splash pad, and I do love those!
