Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I mainly post about my sewing projects, as I’m building a colourful and comfortable everyday wardrobe suitable for a working mum of primary school children. I really love African wax fabric, so that features heavily. I also occassionally post about family life in Edinburgh and travel. Hope you have a nice stay!

This is my third pair of Avery leggings, I’m an old hand at these now! The main difference this time is that this is the first time I’ve used such a strongly patterned fabric, which turns out is harder than you think/I am worse at cutting out than I thought. The front is not aligned and the waistband has a tiny strip in a different colour where the pattern changes. But as my friend pointed out, its no worse than RTW, and I’m going to pretty much always have a top over it anyway.

Details below:

Pattern: Helens Closet Avery leggings, the high waisted view B.

Size: L/16-18

Fabric: A Lady McElroy Lycra. Its slightly softer than the first pair I made, and slightly more activeweary than the second. It would be nice for a swimsuit if I ever progress to that

Adjustments: None.

That’s all I can say about this one, it’s tried and tested! I think I’m good for running leggings now, but I may try the standard waist version in a jersey at some point.
